Lhacienda Terra is starting now, in Bondoukou. Your support pays for the equipment, the training and the first production runs.
What your support pays for
We are at the launch stage, so contributions do not disappear into general running costs. They go into three things:
- Equipment — the pyrolysis unit that turns cashew shells into biochar instead of smoke.
- Training — the local team who will operate and repair it, because equipment nobody in Bondoukou can fix stops working the month after it is installed.
- First production runs — the cycles that let us measure what the process actually yields under local conditions, and publish it.
Before you give, three things you should know
We are a young foundation. Lhacienda Foundation was founded in 2026. We have no track record of completed projects to show you. If that matters to you — and it reasonably might — this is the moment to wait and watch instead.
Donations are not tax-deductible at this time. Lhacienda Esperanza Foundation is a non-profit organization registered in Delaware, United States, and has obtained its EIN from the IRS. An EIN is a tax identification number, not tax-exempt status: our application for recognition under section 501(c)(3) has still to be filed and granted. Until then we cannot issue tax receipts and you should not claim a deduction for a gift made today. We will say so here the moment that changes.
We intend to publish what happens. Including the parts that do not work. A foundation that only reports its successes is telling you very little.
How to give
Online card and PayPal giving is being set up and will appear on this page shortly. In the meantime, two routes are open:
Bank transfer
For gifts of any size, and the route we recommend for larger ones. Write to contact@lhaciendafoundation.org and we will send you the account details and confirm receipt personally.
Talk to us first
If you are an institution, a company or a foundation considering a grant, we would rather have a conversation than a form. Franck Arnaud Gbedieu Zago or Marta María Núñez Muñoz will answer you directly.

Other ways to help
Money is not the only useful thing at this stage. We are looking for partners with standing in the Gontougo region — in agronomy, in health and water, in the fight against child labour — and for anyone with practical experience of biomass pyrolysis. If that is you, write to us.
